I still think Johnny Marr is a wonderful innovative guitarist, compared to say Yngwie Malmsteen, who's first album came out the same year as the First Smiths album.
It's just a shame about the singer. Some of the time.

Wendi is a brutal and extreme album scorer. 
Sometimes I fear that she's not entirely rational.
Impulsive, voting-trigger happy.
She sees an album she doesn't like very much - wounded in the arid, sun-bleached dust (only one leg, so it can only push itself around in desperate circles) and she just blows its tiny, pathetic brains out.
Sure, it's pleading with it's dewey eyes (the last coat of moisture it can summon), but no -Zammo BLAMMO!
Right between the wossnames.

I think I'll have to give it 2. The only song on it I like is How Soon Is Now, and today I discovered that even the inclusion of that was controversial.
