Sax!
Is this the first appearance of a sax on the album?

Actually, this does sound a bit like the riff from What's the Frequency Kenneth.
Oh, it did. A bit.

The drummer on this album is very boring.

This is when they turned their back on Arthur Scargill.

Yeah, but his drumming is outstanding.

It is over.
It all felt like they've totally mined-out the sound they've had for all these years and can think of nothing interesting to do with it anymore. Generally, the playing was uninspired and the vocals were monotonous.
Now to look back at the thread and see what everyone else made of it.![Excited](/users/3715/63/33/29/smiles/4075307247.gif)

I liked it, some of the songs went on a bit too long, and there was probably one two many tracks

There just weren't really any songs.
I'd challenge anyone, after one or two listens, to be able to hum anything from the album*.
It seemed a case of a band reaching the end of the road creatively, dynamically.
Lots of grating, Fripp-esque tunnel-of-noise guitars, plodding drums, muted bass and hackneyed vocal mannerisms from Ronnie Barker Richard Bacon Ronnie Krayfish Richard Thingy.
*this isn't actually what I think any type of music should be aiming for BTW.
But we're not listening the the Sm*gma or The Sun City Girls here.

Not that anyone else is.
I'll be suggesting we do do the Doo-Dooettes nets.
