I don't like skips. I once accidentally threw my keys in one while flinging a bag of rubbish in at the same time. I had to climb in it and go through all kinds of trash to find them.

Upsetting at the best of times to see trees being hacked. Considering the circumstances, perhaps you should ring the council to say you don't appreciate their workmen being sent out to complete non-essential tasks.

Surely there are some elderly people in the borough who might appreciate a knock to see how they are, and if they need a pint of milk and a paper. They've probably paid their rates all their lives, only to be abandoned.

Has anyone else noticed a lot of extensions taking place, in fits and starts, recently? I walked to the large Sainsburys yesterday, and came home in a taxi via a different route, and saw loads of work taking place.

Yes, two houses in this street have been having work done, and another have been putting up an enormous vulgar garden house. Hammering and drilling 8-5 every day.

My neighbours left out a massive piece of cardboard for the recycling collection, which wasn't taken away and just got left on the pavement.

I think it was the refrigerant leaking, huge clouds of white that just disappeared in seconds.

The neighbours have parked about 4" closer to my car than I like, but I don't care any more, I only take it out once a fortnight, and I'm moving away as soon as I possibly can.

Might it have been something to do with the Muslim festival of Eid? I heard some in the distance on Sunday night at about 10:30pm and presumed that's what it was.
