It is over.

That was pleasant enough and had a good vibe to it but it was very repetitive, most of the tracks went on too long and it was hard to avoid noticing that it was basically a string of variations of the same song.

Now to look back at the thread and see what everybody else made of it. Excited

That was, err.. Hmm.. I'm going to say it, the sort of thing you need to hear either at a carnival in New Orleans and/or to first hear it when you're about 9 or 10, to fully appreciate it.

I un-ironically love

Partly because it rocks, rock

But mostly because I heard it at the right age. sad yes

Well, it's done.

As close to a truly authentic representation of the Mardi Gras Indian call-and-response tradition on vinyl.

The Neville Brothers (Gary, Phil etc), The Meters, George Landry in person.

New Orleans/Louisiana = the ultimate melting point of North America, the Caribbean of the slave trade and indigenous Native Americans.

Beezer stuff.
