Halo James are like a 1987 tribute act for early 1990. But I do like that song. It's just a bit dated for the ultra modern 90s.
I think the Nicky Campbell intro was referring tongue-in-cheekily to Lil' Louis and the World - the full name of the act - being a collaboration up there with many other famous duets.

They sound a bit like a Bros. clone, just a couple of years too late. I also quite err. liked it.

BREAKING LEARNING: The Halo James song IS from 1987!
Here's the ever so slightly weaker demo version.
Yet the 1990 "remix" we all know and love doesn't make it sound any less 1987 or Johnny Hates Jazz-like.
Maybe they should have added the Wooh-Yeah! or Funky Drummer samples.
