I'm usually happy but occasionally I get into fights on Twitter. Especially if I've drunk more than I intended. Luckily that last situation doesn't happen so often these days.

I am a volatile mixture of things.

Especially at parties and large gatherings.

I prefer to drink alone or with just one or two others these days.

I am a very happy and silly drunk.

I have always wanted to be an angry one, as that would make me seem deeper.

I'm disappointed I'm the only one who's bladder shrinks to the size of a walnut after 2 pints of foaming nut brown ale.

I'm at the flying stage! Wheee!

I'm at the faintly irritated, hungry, having felt bullied into listening to a Seal album stage.

This means that I've entered the nasty and violent stage.

I landed safely.

Good.

Just on the edge though.

Oh, I think I thought that this was a kind of 'what is your current state of inebriation' concept thread.

In order to cover both interpretations I shall say:

- Currently: good, but starting to turn ugly as I type this.

- Generally: Garrulous, witty, moody, brooding, handsome.

Also, violent, destructive and oblivious and then after all the dust has settled sorry for my actions and everything.

I'm still generally a happy drunk, and don't get into social media fights any more.

Instead I sometimes get filled with existential dread, and fear at what is to become of me as the sun sets on the ruins of the post-war consensus.

Sociable and quite talkative. Liable to overshare and regret.

It’s not hugely common for me to get drunk. It gives me hangovers and I don’t like feeling unwell. Very occasionally it’s worth it and I’ll drink on, but generally no. I can’t usually finish a bottle of wine alone so these days I barely open one. I can do two or three smallish neat whiskies if the day has been particularly trying, but no more than that - and it probably averages out at one sitting every three or so weeks.

I tend not to buy much champagne these days, because that I can easily drink by the bottle. If I’m at lunch, I will usually have a small glass of wine. Less commonly at dinner - I stick to cocktails there. I used to eat out all the time, but 2020 broke the habit, and with it the occasion for alcohol with the meal.

Before Covid, it was more common for me to end up in a bar after work, and stay out until the vicinity was dry, purely because I enjoy the buzz of socialising. So that’s been a pandemic benefit.
