And?
It tells you on the back.

It is over.
It started off alright, but some of those vaudeville 'things' on side 2, :disgust:

It is over.
It was pleasant but unremarkable and very much in line with what zillions of other acts were doing at that time, which does raise the question of whether George Formby was the most influential musical figure in the UK in the late 1960s.
Now to look back at the thread and see what everybody else made of it.

I also went 2 little star things.
It's pretty much how I imagine the Bee-gees 60s albums as sounding like.

Re: The Idle Race – The Birthday Party (1968)
I think that that has to be - even taking the fact that there's unwittingly a s*xual deviant and monstrous k***y f*****r on it - the worst, most shoddily realised, most cynical, most craven Lonely Peppers rip-off, arse-crawling-up bit of album artwork ever created.
I might even dock them a point for it.

Re: The Idle Race – The Birthday Party (1968)
Are you suggesting the reason they put Radio 1 DJs on it was just an attempt to get them to play the album on the radio?
It's sad to see so much cynicism in someone so young.
Also complete lack of any women. Or anyone non-white.
At least I think I can spot Oliver Hardy, so it's not all bad.

Rowan Atkinson doesn't look too pleased being seated next to Savile neither.

Little Richard and Fats Domino are in there apparently.

I don't think this album is worth this level of scrutiny to be honest.

I believe that the inside cover may represent a piece of important criminal evidence.
On multiple levels.
In truth I'm surprised Jonathan King isn't there.
Or Peter Sutcliffe.

Like I said.
Important.
Like a full list of addressees and visitors at Dolphin Square during the '70s and '80s.
BTW - scholar, indeed.
