Meek or Mild?

Sounds like the Doctor Who theme tune.

I mean melodically, rather than sound-effects-wise.

It is over.
It is hard to know what to think. It's nice that he was trying something different. Whether it actually worked is hard to say. It would probably take a second listen to formulate an opinion about its actual merit.
Now to look back at the thread and see what everybody else made of it.

Sounded like the soundtrack to a long forgotten low budget late 50s/early 60s British Science fiction comedy film.
It was alright.

The Call of the Wendigo wrote:I mean melodically, rather than sound-effects-wise.
Yes, the descending key sequence towards the end.
More completely un-frightening yet prescient spookiness.

Well I enjoyed it, not as much as The Cult but I will have to give it 3.5 which rounds up to 4...
No, perhaps a 3...but I did enjoy it.

Considering when it was created - and by whom - one of the oddest records ever made.
It cannot be disliked on a moral basis nor held up as paragon of musical, technical innovation.
Ultimately it can only be treasured as great British folly.
Like Jack the Treacle Eater and the drunken toff from years gone by who made a bet with some fellow drunken toff that you could see the spire of St. Wossnames from his battlements only to realise on waking that it just wasn't true and so had some Georgian cowboy builders quickly throw up a likeness just at the edge of his estate...
Probably.

I don't know whether the Countess has an opinion on this album BTW.
Knock once for yes, twice for no.
