I'm not sure that's how a band choosing and paying for a producer should work like that.

For at least 50 years British bands got so viciously and disrespectfully strong-armed and welched on by US promoters, studios etc it wasn't true.

I guess it's one of the reasons Peter Grant was/is such a legend - a truly intimidating man-monster.
