More G*d Bothering?
Re: Spooky Tooth/Pierre Henry – Ceremony: An Electronic Mass (1969)
Well, that was apocalyptically awful.
A complete ubershambles of styles and aesthetic/experimental philosophies and styles listlessly stylistically shoehorned into a woolly, half-baked concept style-type-album.
Virtually without redeeming feature.
However, it is from a finer and more noble time and that it was actually released in the first place by a record label (that apparently vetoed the band's pleas that the album not be released cos they thought it was gr8
) is a strange reason for celebration.
It was total sh*t though.

Also, anything Wendi deems worthy of ★ can't be all bad.

I'll give it ★★ for the nice use of CHIAROSCURO on the album cover. ![yes](/users/3715/63/33/29/smiles/959869116.gif)

I stand by every drunken word. Actually the Pierre Henry stuff still sounds interesting, if nothing special the Spooky Tooth sounds run of the mill, but still slightly ahead of the times, and the religious angle was probably groundbreaking at the time, before Andrew Lloyd-Webber Mendelssohn's Greatest Hits it all up.
Gets a bonus ★ for the artwork,
