So this bike came as a flat pack?

It did. I had to put the saddle on, the handlebars on, the front fork on, the pedals on, the front mudguard on and the front wheel on. The brakes were already on but in some need of adjustment. I have yet to put the gear shifter to the test.

Last night, I finally managed to get the thing to change gear. It only took me a week of watching videos to do it.

I still don't have a clue how I managed it. In the end, I was reduced to randomly tightening and loosening screws in the hope that something might finally work.

In fact, I'm thinking of converting it to a single-speed and having it permanently in an insanely low gear, as I'll only ever be cycling on 10 degree slopes, wherever I go.

I've just inflated my bike's tyres, for the first time since I bought it, last summer.

I don't know how you know when they're done, so I just stopped inflating when I got bored.

You could take it down the local garage and use their air machine, it's got a little meter and everything.

Although it might explode if you set it PSI not BAR or whatever it is.
