It's not as well developed for obvious reasons that album.
I understand that he was coming out of a serious crisis at that time - and it shows.
Less musical, thematic variety.
Still, I love it.

It's over.
That was a very pleasing album filled with nice tunes. It's hard to know if his tendency to lift chord sequences from well-known songs is a strength or a weakness. On the one hand, the familiarity makes the songs instant. On the other, you spend the entire track trying to work out where you've heard the chords before.
He also needs to give it a bit more welly, sometimes, with the vocals.
Now to look back at the thread and see what everybody else made of it.
