It does seem that nettles appear overnight. I'm sure just a few weeks ago there were none and now they're everywhere.

On a walk I did the other day there were millions of them lining the paths, but with no dock leaves to be found. I thought it was law that where nettles are found so are dock leaves?!

Anyway, er... anyone ever made nettle soup?

Nettle soup has intrigued me for a long time. More people should eat it/drink it really what with nettles being in abundance during the summer - and free to pick. ...If you don't mind getting stung. It's supposed to be really good for you.

Whilst doing some weeding this afternoon with bare hands, I happened to grab onto a nettle. At first it felt spiky more than anything; I initially thought it was a thistle, bramble or similar before I saw the small nettle in amongst the dandelion leaves.

I then had a tingling pins and needles feeling in my left hand all evening; even many hours later I can still just about feel it.

I always wear gloves while weeding.

I usually do, but they were behind locked doors and I couldn't be bothered to fetch the keys to unlock the door for such a menial task such as 10 minutes of weeding.

I've been stung by a nettle that was sticking out of the flexi tub I was gathering things in. I somehow managed to let it sting me on my left arm and then my right arm. About 3 hours later I can still feel the tingling on both arms.

I also got stung by a nettle exactly two years and two days ago.
