Now, I do love this, but I can see that it's a bit of a filler number.

It is over.
It was pleasant enough but noticeably devoid of inspiration and direction.
Now to look back at the thread and see what everybody else made of it.

Well, that was generally quite sublime.
In truth it never quite lives up to the opening title track and the fact that the Polyphonic Whatchamacallit isn't used again is a shame.
Also, the last track, although dreamily lovely, does run on for too long and seems like a left-over track from 1972.
Still...
You might think that when a musician goes all Goddy and dumps his previous band and production team/sound that'd been his commercial winning formula for more than a decade it'd be a disaster.
But, of course, this is Al Green and this was the '70s.

That was alright. Not too soppy. and a lightness of touch that drags it out of the 70s plod-a-phon.
