They fitted me well, I didn’t have your problem. A maternity nurse joked to me ‘don’t worry, we’ll just break your pelvis if we need to’. Well, I hoped she was joking.

Well, good. That’s their lane, and it’s a perfectly decent one.

Where they went wrong was in the character assassination/thought that they were decent judges of character. I was talking to someone from Jersey over the weekend, which put me in mind of SSC. He was annoying in his various guises, but the initial reaction to him was pretty precious - Divine gifs and topless men never harmed anyone, and the more that Fox character* reacted to him the worse he became, but he was harmless, a poor soul really.

They made a great mistake with me - which reading through the private moderators section revealed. They thought they had me all figured out, but they were so off beam - I’d never waste my time hanging out somewhere that had ended up like that for me, let alone trying to access it a la Jerseyboi. I’d consider that well beneath my dignity, the equivalent of banging on a pub door begging to be let back in after being refused service - not my style.

There were some nice people there, but there you go, no point crying over spilt milk. A fair few absolute tw*ts I maintain I was right about, and any grief they felt I gave was a two way street if they’re honest. If they’re sticking to Docklands, good luck, and I’m genuinely pleased that Octoman is finding pleasure and taking interest in the things he enjoys - he deserves an outlet like that where he can focus on interesting stuff for interests sake.

It left a lasting impression on me - I’ve still never been to Portsmouth, and don’t want to. That boy will never get a job with the local tourist board. I’d be frightened of being run out of town on a rail after being covertly photographed for some infraction - jaywalking, putting chewing gum in the wrong bin, that kind of thing. It’s funny that I got sucked into the Scottish Independence thread because I’m not even really against it - probably for, if anything.

*Someone I was really nice to, I must say. Always encouraging him out of his shell, saying how lovely pictures of his bedsit and his parents garden were, telling him to grab life by the hair. I remember he didn’t have the confidence to go to Korea or Japan for a job opportunity - I was consistently supportive, telling him to do it, take it, enjoy it. He obviously thought those backing his fears and telling him not to bother were kinder. A shame - for him.
