| All I can see is half a tree, a small lawn and the blue door of No.12. _________________ Ibble obble black bobble, ibble obble out!

| This isn't helping with my long-running Chelmsford-Colchester confusion. Though I have now been to one and not the other so I'm a bit more informed. |

| I grew up in Chelmsford, and moved to Colchester.
We'd often walk down Windrush Drive on our way to playgroup when I was a tiny child. _________________ ' "Haven't got houses." Where do they live then?'

That would be like me growing up in Wednesbury and moving to Wednesfield, two local towns a few miles apart and in separate boroughs that I sometimes mix up, as I believe do many others. Wednesfield is where Tanya's Diner is/was. Wednesbury is where IKEA is. |

| I dislike Wed related words and places. Horribly Saxon. WND stuff troubles me on sight and by sound just as much as all those brutal Russian KR words. I hope my diner has closed down. |

| Inelegant.
Back to WND ones, I also despise hearing or seeing anything to do with Windsor. It disgusts me. I know it’s a silent D but I know it’s there.
When they changed the surname to sound more native, they should’ve gone with Osborne (House) rather than that dowdily named castle.
Apart from anything else, we’d have The Osbornes to go with The Osbournes. They should seized the opportunity for Mountbatten - much better. |

I’ve wondered how people not born on a Friday come to terms with it. I don’t know how they do. What better day to be born on? My son was born on a Saturday, which I’ve never made a big deal of, just because I think it’d be difficult. All through childhood, my grandparents allowed me to decide what we had for dinner on Friday (or where we ate if going out, and lunch too if it was a holiday), and my own bedtime, due to being a child of Friday. You can’t beat the buzz of a Friday. I was more than happy to return the favour by choosing fish, which was really my grandmothers favourite, as well as her being of a very strict Catholic upbringing. Lapsed, but not culturally lapsed to the extent of having anything but fish on a Friday. Everyone’s in a good mood on Friday. We always had to do things my brother wanted on a Tuesday. Holiday Tuesdays were his choice. |
