| The NHOTW 5 was so exciting that I forgot all about it for a month. At close of business yesterday it was at 70.8, down 3.6 points on the last quote.  The appalling performance of most constituents was mitigated by Carlsberg holding steady, and Pets at Home staging a remarkable recovery.

| At the end of last week, the NHOTW 5 closed at 69.8, down just 1 point on the last quote. That's a lot better than my actual investments performed over the last week

| Yesterday the NHOTW 5 closed at 68.9, down only 0.9 points on the last quote.  I must admit I thought it would be a lot worse. A big slump in the price of Pets At Home was countered by strong gains from Carlsberg.

| The FTSE 100 index has only lost 7% over the same period. We've lost 39%.
The NHOTW 5 has been a rotten bad investment for everyone concerned. I guess that basing financial decisions on the consumption habits of NHOTWers wasn't a good idea after all.

| The latest quarterly results show the NHOTW 5 at 65.7, up 8.3 points on the last quote. Largely thanks to good performance by the owners of Heron Foods.

| The NHOTW5 has now been running for a year.
Meaning that its annual return is a whacking -34.3%, compared to the FTSE All World Index at -19.6% over the same period.

| Yesterday the NHOTW 5 closed at 71.4, up 5.7 points on the last quote 3 months ago.  Over the quarter Marstons and Safestore did badly, but Pets at Home and BME (Heron Foods) made strong gains.
