Seabrook - as in the crisps - doesn't have an "S" on the end of it.

I was told off on the Tesco subreddit once for referring to them as Tescos.

Yes, but that was a matter of them embracing popular usage. For a long time they were called J SAINSBURY, singular.

There's a mileage signpost for Nottingham in suburban Sutton Coldfield.

I'm guessing that's because the A453 used to be the principal route from Birmingham to Nottingham, via Tamworth as suggested by the sign. It's been replaced by the M42 now.
If you look at the map you'll see a B-road leading out of Tamworth with the suspicious number B5493, leading me to guess that that is the old route of the A453. Often when a road is downgraded, its new number is reminiscent of the old one. For example the A1000 is the old A1 route, and the A1184 marks the old route of the A11 from Harlow to Bishops Stortford.
And I see that my guess was correct https://www.sabre-roads.org.uk/wiki/index.php?title=B5493

Before he became famous, Gilbert O'Sullivan was in a band with future Supertramp founder Rick Davies.

If he'd played his cards right, he could've been in Supertramp.
