Subject: Let's make a football team of singers (Alt Version)! Fri Sep 02, 2022 9:21 pm
Inspired by tonight's old episode of TOTP, featuring Haddaway, it struck me that we could put together a football team made up of footballers who've had hit records.
We're playing 4-4-2. I shall get the ball rolling.
Goalkeeper: Julio Iglesias.
Defence:
Midfield: Glenn Hoddle. Chris Waddle.
Forwards: Haddaway.
Players must have had a hit record in their own right, not as part of a team that had a hit record (eg, not just by being a member of the 1970 or 1990 England team).

I've added Pele to the team. Pele and Haddaway up front. Surely, no defence could stop them.

Haddaway's Wikipedia page makes no mention of him ever having been a footballer. Did Tony Dortie lie to me?

I've added Vinnie Jones to midfield, and replaced Haddaway with Kevin Keegan, as I can find no evidence that Haddaway ever was a footballer.

I've now added Gazza to midfield. I think I'm going to have to have a five-man midfield, with Hoddle, Jones and Gazza in the centre, and Waddle and another on the wings.
