It's been a bit nippy the last couple of days. I've had to start wearing socks about the house again. Also a jumper.

The word jumper comes from 'jump' meaning a big baggy jacket, < French jupe which now means a skirt. dontpanic

Also of course the Americans use 'jumper' to mean a pinafore dress. But then they would, wouldn't they.

Sunny, but a spectral chill of winter in the air.

It reminds me of the autumn after I finished uni, when the bright sunny weather smilingly concealed the frozen horrors of unemployment awaiting me.
