Still brass monkeys.

There was a thaw in Bolton and almost everywhere I went yesterday. Pouring rain on the East Lancs Road.

But once I got to Stansted it was suddenly really cold again, with snow lying everywhere and mysterious patches of fog suddenly drifting across the road.

Still freezing cold here.

Currently -1 out there.

Tiny little hailstones are falling from the sky.

Currently 0 degrees.

Expected to rise to 6 degrees by 8PM.

Then 10 degrees by 2AM

Then 12 degrees by 8AM.

It's like some sort of meteorological miracle.

It's 12 C here!

I couldn't believe how warm it was when I left the house. It felt warmer outside than it did inside.

That's probably because the walls, floors etc of your house cooled down during the freeze, and had yet to warm up again to match the exterior air temperature.

The temperature's expected to stay well above zero, all this week.

Fine sunny Boxing Day weather.

No doubt it will be very agreeable for people who like going to sportsball matches on this day.

It is filth out there.

Rainy and windy. A good day to be inside enjoying my week off.

Currently 7 degrees.

Dry and windy, with grey clouds and sunny intervals. The light and the brown trees made me think more than ever of being home from uni at Christmas in about 1990.
