Christ almighty, I think we've overdosed on all the regional accents by now. I think some of them are just hamming it up - there was some Aberdeenshire R roller on just now who induced in me whatever the reverse of ASMR is. Then it was off to some squalid corner of Wales or somewhere.

In a way you aren't wrong. You don't want overwrought Brit tat breaking down on you. Although I suspect she's about to be loaded into an old Bentley style hearse in the next few minutes. In terms of her being German - well only as much as her paternal family is Czech, Dutch, French, Danish, Scottish, and several other things. And her mother's family were Scottish/British.

Insisting they're German after however many generations in Britain, just because two or three generations passed through Germany and various other places before coming full circle, is a slap in the face to everyone with a richer heritage than some kind of blood and soil British nationalism would accept as pure enough. It's completely offensive. It's actually very hurtful.

Whatever type of hearse that is, it's monogrammed with an E topped with a crown. I wonder if that was glued onto a borrowed vehicle, or whether they've had that in the garage at Buckingham Palace all these years.

How can it possibly take '45 minutes' (according to Hugh Edwards) to get from Northolt to Buckingham Palace, with the benefit of cleared roads, no stopping at traffic lights, and police outriders? You could cane that in half the time. I could anyway, under those circumstances.
