Abrupt ending.
To a very underwhelming album.
I noted that the concluding remarks from yesterday were quite negative yet, for about 20 minutes, I thought I was going to differ in opinion, but no.
It's not a very long album and it's not, in all fairness, overbearing and frantic, but it's possibly a failure for those very reasons.
Ultimately, quite boring, very undemanding and tracing an arc from sultry, kitsch and faintly charming, right down to a non-denouement of beiger-than-beige mediocrity.
nb - Cyrus, you act the crazy cat and (for many of us) you've won us over after the early days of 'put your bloody tongue away, girl', but this was so lazy and 'vanilla' it was frankly a bit pathetic.
