Shaday or not Shaday?
Re: Ofra Haza - Shaday (1988)
Bit like one of those Middle eastern inflected tracks from the Blade Runner soundtrack.
Oh, yeah, and with fretless bass.

It is over.
It needed songs that were more interesting and more distinctive.
Now to look back at the thread and see what everybody else made of it.

I liked the ones that didn't sound like bland mid-80 pop music.

Re: Ofra Haza - Shaday (1988)
I thoroughly enjoyed that. The very good tracks I thought were outstanding, the lesser, more generic tracks were fine in a generic 80s way but brought the stars down just a little. It was going to be 5/5 for most of the way through but that slipped to 4.5/5 by the end - though the final track ensured it didn't slip any further.
4.5/5 - rounded up to 5/5 for voting!

These kinds of strong-arm tactics don't generally work with other Wendigans.

Anyway, it was quite a disappointment after the opening smash hit.
