It was inoffensive enough but did sound like early REM trying to be the Byrds and ending up being the Monkees.

Well, considering I never got to hear my favourite Stone Roses song, that wasn't actually quite as bad and boring as I was expecting. I certainly didn't love it, but there were some decent moments in there - a lot of obvious rip-offs of other stuff, but tolerable.
