It is now bright and hot and sunny.

It's been a lovely calm summer day since about lunchtime.

Managing to be both hot and rainy.

A strange morning in which there are heavy clouds everywhere, apart from over the distant hills which are in bright sunshine despite usually being shrouded in cloudy, Lovecraftian gloom.

On one of the most southern hills which is normally almost black and visually impenetrable, I can see purple heather and a tall white pole whose purpose I cannot hope to fathom at this distance.

Who would have thought the day would come when I would discover just what lurks on that hill?
