Have you ever had, or used, a pager?
As they're currently in the news.
I've never used one but my older brother had a pager when he was away at college in the mid 90s. I remember him saying that the cool people had pagers and only the geeks had mobile phones.
My mum and dad used to ring a number and leave a message for him. It seemed quite exciting at the time.

Never. If I did I’d bin it. As I’ve taken delivery of a new iPad, I’ve had suspicious thoughts about it too.

Could you send messages from them or only receive them? I can't remember.

I've never even seen one. I didn't know they were even still a thing.

Next, I'll be discovering there are still Filofaxes and Rolodexes in use.

I just posted about a Filofax, minutes ago!!
I remember pagers being a thing about 1991-93. The rise of PAYG mobile phones killed them.

I did used to have a Filofax. Probably in use until I was 18/19.
I also have an address book. I inherited it from my grandmother. It’s an A4 one, covered in gold silk with embroidered scenes of Old Kong Kong. In it she’d written my grandfathers date, time, and cause of death. After that, she never used it to write anything new again. The only thing I added to it, underneath his, is the same for her. Nobody has been added to it. Although it’s still good for a dwindling number of Christmas cards etc, for now extremely elderly people whose addresses I wouldn’t otherwise have.
It also contains lovely things - her page of Countdown conundrums, and the odd entry for a person that’s been scored out - a dignified top left to bottom right double line if the person has died, and a line by line black felt tip covering up for those who’ve been sent to Siberia.

Imagine my shock when I was listening to a 1995 album by American R&B singer Adina Howard earlier, and there is a brief interlude where there's some talk about someone sending a message on a pager.

I have a copy of I Should Be So Lucky with a 1989 taxi despatch message intruding into the first verse. I wasn't recording it off the radio either, I was home taping and killing music.
