| Just to clarify by the way, I didn't suddenly start going on about it out of the blue after we'd briefly met eyes, smiled and nodded a friendly but wordless greeting.
Nor did I leap suddenly from some scraggy undergrowth and start ranting and raving about my stoical and spartan virtues to her deep shock and abiding terror.
I also, in no way and at any time, scrawled in red, dripping graffiti on her front door the legend "HEATING-NEVER-NOT-EVER-ONCE-NO-HELLISH-INFERNO-SATAN666".
