Just watching Gary Rhodes on the news, I guess Jamie Oliver came along and pretty much "killed" Gary's mainstream TV career by the late 90s, as the cheeky chappy young chef. Gary Rhodes however was absolutely nowhere near as annoying.

He was however spectacularly annoying. ![sad yes](/users/3715/63/33/29/smiles/2158945485.gif)
I remember he always used to use the words "actual" and "literal(ly)" literally constantly, actually.
e.g.
"We're going to literally pour this actual gravy over the actual chicken br*ast, literally".
Really, he actually used to do it all the time.
Literally.

I was always disappointed he didn't use the word "virtual", because it would've'd made a lemon drizzle cake or a steak tartare sound all futuristic, like in Lawnmower Man. ![happy](/users/3715/63/33/29/smiles/2622191953.gif)

I'm very upset about Clive James. I hope he's at great peace.

The things I've missed by not being a cook. I've only enjoyed Nigella. Her melted mozzarella French toast and her lemon risotto are two of my greatest specialities.
I remember my friend Charlene being very upset the following day that The Naked Chef was actually fully clothed and she'd turned over when that didn't change.
I hadn't watched so I found a Daily Mail in a newsagent to see if they had a picture. They did, and an article about unnecessary vulgar titles to lure innocents.

I know, I was completely hoodwinked by BBC2's Antony Worrall-Thompson's Polymorphous Custard-F*sting Snuff-Orgy. ![sad yes](/users/3715/63/33/29/smiles/2158945485.gif)
They renamed it Ready, Steady, Cook! after series 3.

Bob Willis has died. I'll remember that look of pure joy on his face whether the Australians lost the ashes.

For years I thought he was a woman, due to him being called Caroll. I couldn't quite work out how "she" managed to do such a husky voice like Oscar the Grouch.
