I particularly loved Birthday at the time, its evocation of vast, cold sloping sunny skies, people listening to the weather. I wasn't in a good place in those days, I was to be candid, 19 And Mad, but still, dammit, I was alive, the world wasn't all talk and time payments and courts of law.
