Driving Rain or Driving Pain?

"Like Venus soaring on its way to Mars."

It sounds a lot like something from that Todd Rundgren Beatles pastiche album.

And it's over.
I'm not going to rate this until WE DO THE SECOND HALF!
But I will say I think PMcC in 21st Century > 80s Paul Possibly even 70s Paul.
Mostly.

Re: Paul McCartney - Driving Rain, 2001, Part 1.
And that is the end of Part One.
That was all a rather wonderful. Part One. Wisely, rougher around the edges than most his albums, it manages to be both darker than we're used to but still retaining Macca's innate positivity.
And the great news is my favourite tracks on the album are yet to come, when we do Part Two!

There are only two official Macca albums from the 1990s; Off the Ground and Flaming Pie.WhatDoesThisButtonDo? wrote:Have we done a 90s one? Does the Fireman one count?
Off the Ground is one he made with Elvis Costello and veers between the excellent and the mediocre. Flaming Pie is generally regarded as one of his strongest and, stylistically, fits in neatly with both Band on the Run and London Town.
