Re: The best movie based on a sit-com
I saw the first fifteen minutes of Holiday on the Buses, a few years back.
Fifteen minutes was plenty.

I waited for them but they were late, then they both turned up at once.

I suppose you could include that Red Dwarf feature length episode that was on Dave last week.
I liked it.

The first OTBs film is the most misogynistic film ever made.
And that includes actual footage of stonings in the Middle East.

That was the one I was trying to remember. Holiday on the Buses. With Henry McGee dressed up as Jeremy Thorpe, and the psychotic chef with the cleaver, and Blakey finally flipping and trying to kill Jack/Stan in the pool.

That's it. It's a very excitingly shot sequence, it really does sell us the idea that Stan/Jack is genuinely going to get the chop this time.

Re: The best movie based on a sit-com
I watched most of the Porridge movie yesterday.
On mute, while I listened to underground rap.
My Mum called me up while it was on and we reminisced about seeing it at the movies when it came out.
I remembered that there was football match in it and She remembered that they had to break back into Slade.
Teamwork!

Is the prison in Porridge named after the band?
