Heartland or Fartland?
Re: Owen Pallett - Heartland (2010)
It is over.
It was an album I found it difficult to get into as it was, vocally, very pallid and the tracks all sounded too much like each other.
Now to look back at the thread and see what everybody else made of it.

Really, I never get bored of this album.
If a single track comes on my iPod when it's on shuffle I want to start from the beginning and listen to it all the way through.
It's...
Well, it's...
Beezer.
I think that's the word I'm gr*ping about for.

It was, alright. I thought it was a bit too over orchestrated, a little too busy busy. Also it had songs that sounded like Beach Boys, that's a paddling.
And I just couldn't place who his singing reminds me of, which started to irritate me.
Probably didn't even sound like the person I think he sounds like. I'll probably work it out who it is at around 4am.
I went ★★★

I, I... *sniffle*... thought it was going so well.
I, I, but I... genuinely thought for a moment it would scale the giddy heights of vote-dom.
I feel quite crestfallen.
Literally.
I had my lucky crest on and it fell off when I saw your votes.

Anything restrained is going to struggle to get votes from me, as I like singers with a bit of passion about them.

He is admittedly not really a singer.
Obviously he can sing reasonably well, but it's not exactly Aretha Franklin or Bon Scott.
Some friends of mine don't like his solo albums specifically because of his singing voice.

We haven't done Lee 'Scratch' Perry either.
He made 2 albums in 2003, 1 in 2004 and 3 albums in 2006.
