Re: Favourite childhood toys
Just those three. Red hat there was my favourite. That friendly little face glowing away. My mother melted her on a lightbulb while warming her up. I was so distressed - absolutely inconsolable. The poor thing had to have an emergency hemicorporectomy so she could still balance and remain with me. Luckily enough, I had all those emergency vehicles from the Playmobil range to get her to the operating theatre for the refinements that can become a way of life for amputees.

Is that meant to mean something? Playing with matches?
I've always preferred blue tip matches. Such an appealing shade of it too, especially when compared the garish coral of a Swan Vesta.

I once had a box of blue tip matches where the top opened like a cigarette packet. It was the most sophisticated disposable thing I've ever had. Two people came round to my house to see it.

All I needed, when I was little, was Lego.
We didn't have WilkoBlox back then.

I know they were really meant for girls but I had two Glo Friends at the time - Glo Butterfly, as seen top left, and Glo Spider, as seen below with the little sleeping bag.
I eventually gave them away, probably to a younger family member or a school jumble sale or something. But in the late 90s I was at a car boot sale and found a little collection of Glo Friends that a girl was selling for like 10p each or something, and even back then I was nostalgic enough to buy a handful of them, including the ones I had.
I've still got them in the loft.
Funnily enough, one of mine has got a burn/melt mark on it meaning it too was held a bit too closely to a lightbulb at some point!

They're lovely. You should bring them down but keep them away from lightbulbs. I too intend to replace the three I had.

I didn't enjoy Lego much. Having to actually construct it before you could play with it wasn't something I had time for. My brother had some. I tried to get to grips with a green base and a couple of garden fence bits that just fell off - I threw it across the room and went to stand out in the rain to calm down.

Actually, I've already got a few of those bits.
