Plasters stop the wound from being reopened. I get a lot of cuts on my fingers and they never heal until I plaster them up.

Plasters were of no use this evening though, when I cut my tongue on a boiled sweet. You know when the sugar has an ultra-sharp crack in it and your unsuspecting tongue rubs over it?

I stubbed my toes a few minutes ago, but they've stopped hurting now.

I somehow got a cut on the sole of my foot. I had to use a torch and a mirror to manoeuvre a plaster into position.

PS - no sets of tweezers?

PPS - were the torch and mirror all gaffer-taped and/or propped on the wall/ceiling/items of furniture all at elaborate angles?

After trying various propping schemes, I put the mirror on the floor. Luckily the torch was a headtorch so I was able to direct it while having both hands free for plaster application.

Not quite so butch, but yes, a bright yellow headlamp on a bright yellow stretchy headband thing.

I bought it when the lights stopped working in the loft, and I needed two hands free to fix them.

Seconds from going to bed, I've stabbed meself in the finger with the nail scissors. Now I've got to spend the next 10 minutes compressing and elevating, with me hand in the air like a prize plum.
