The "little flap of disconnected flesh" has now turned into a kind of 'lid'.

I can't post a picture because I've lost all of my posting skills. I now have a scar for life on my ring finger. I had been on the terrace with a friend and we shared five or six bottles of the Ponsardin widow.The stem of a flute bounced back at me as it hit the radiator as I popped through for a top up and I caught it in the middle of its disintegration. Down to the bone it was, down to the bone.

After the total destruction of three towels, and a cushion cover of the sofa, and a carpet that's since had to be professionally cleaned, it finally became clear that there was no stopping the bleeding. I had to sit in casualty under bright strip lighting, sobbing into blood caked jeans, with a sick bowl made of grayish cardboard, while being triaged for four sodding hours. A strange man came to stroke my hair, and I just let him get on with it.

I went out for a fag and met a really nice woman whose face had been caved in by her boyfriend. He had a heart attack mid fight and had just been declared dead by a trauma team a couple of minutes before we shared a lighter. I hope she's ok, should've taken her number really. My scar really itches. I can't use Bio Oil (other brands are available) because it just slides off and onto any paper or iPad I'm using.

I've got a Ponsardin window.

It overlooks a Bollinger trellis and small fountain of lager.

As you know fine well Mr Grundy, I know all sorts of things about everyone on the Internet.

I'm going to the doctor's surgery to have a splinter taken out of my finger. It's embedded in the skin.

I usually scrape them out with a needle.

I've got a big iodine-soaked bandage on my finger now. It's making typing difficult.

I cut my thumb quite badly without noticing whilst chopping garlic earlier.

It went through a tough-ish bit of my left hand thumb so I didn't notice it at first.

I thought the garlic was all off and weird until I realised it was covered in blood.
