Re: Tales from the Bargain bin
You certainly saved more money, assuming you'll be able to eat them before they go off.
I wouldn't want vege-mince for my victory breakfast though. It has to be an omelette.

For my lunch I had a high quality Co-op rectangular pizza, reduced from £3.55 to £1.99. It was delicious. And by omitting the usual chips or baked potato, I had room for the whole thing. And I ate it with my fingers like people on telly.

Re: Tales from the Bargain bin
For my pudding today I had two Co-op egg custard tarts, reduced from 89p to 59p.
They were nice, but I always regret buying egg custard tarts, cos there's too much egg custard and not enough pastry.

I've just got eight dinky little pork and pickle pies from Heron, half-price.

I nearly bought some discount potato salad from Tescos, but it was only reduced from 94p to 69p, so I turned my nose up at it.

Are they shaped like little cars?

Re: Tales from the Bargain bin
It's Sheffield rhyming slang: pork pie = it's a car, aye

This was more what I was trying to suggest.
In vain.

Re: Tales from the Bargain bin
Four decent-sized steak and ale pies from Heron for £1.50.
And they actually had plenty of meat in them.

Did they contain enough ale?
