I bet Lynyrd Skynyrd were too scared to write a riposte to this one.
Let alone offer Gayle out for a punch up.

It is over.
That was fab, filled with the kind of vigour, brassiness and guitariness I appreciate.
Now to look back at the thread and see what everybody else made of it .

They were going to, but the Governor stopped them releasing it as he wanted to dance with Gayle.
Oh, hang on that was that Lester Maddox guy wasn't it?

Re: Gayle McCormick – Flesh & Blood (1972).
Well, that was undemanding and largely formulaic Southern Rock - i.e. Blues-Rock-Soul-Country-Roots-Americana-Creole-and more Blues and Rock fayre, but it was impossible to dislike and non-enjoy.
Loads of these kind of bands and artistes existed between '69 and '75 and as a result it's quite striking how many failed to really score meaningful and lasting success.
Sad in many ways, but still, the music's on record and on records and on Youtube so it's not so bad in the end.
