I think N-BAPs is actually all quite nice and groovy and playful and a bit satirical before suddenly becoming quite blunt, twisted and angrily harsh in the last four or so songs.

Right up until Clever Trevor it's all nice then abruptly turns.


I've always found that quite difficult, but now you come to mention it, it's really striking.

I spose it's like Dury himself - he was well known to be at one moment urbane and charming and self-deprecating and a raconteur and the next moment an angry bitter, difficult b*stard.

I guess that the uncomfortable and sudden switch of tone is quite brilliant really.
