Re: Best Number 1 of 1992
I was torn between Stay, Rhythm Is A Dancer and Sleeping Satellite.
I went for Stay.
I went for Stay.

Maybe we should have a similar poll for the Number Ones of 2022?

I was just going to say reminded me to do one at the end of the year, but we'll all have forgotten by then.

Whitney. I Will Always Love You.
One of the finest final launches into the ending of a song that's ever been recorded.

Re: Best Number 1 of 1992
gr8 thread!
This is roughly my order, from favourite to least favourite, though I like them all.
Stay
Rhythm Is a Dancer
Would I Lie to You
Abba-Esque (Take a Chance On Me)
Ain't No Doubt
I Will Always Love You
End of the Road
Ebeneezer Goode
Goodnight Girl
Sleeping Satellite
Please Don't Go
Deeply Dippy

Ebeneezer Goode of course.
Weirdly, I was just thinking about The Shamen before opening this thread. It was sparked off by reading the Buzzcocks album thread and having I Don't Mind stuck in my head, the bit about 'I don't know if I'm an actor or ham / A shaman or sham'.

Shamen 4 Me, even if their follow up was better, Shakie's Sis very close second. I do quite like the Jimmy Nail, Snap and RSF ones, Tasmin Archer was the best of the drippy ones.
