Right, if my mower works I am going to cut the grass (and disturb everybody)

I overhauled my mower and set the blades to the longest cut, but I haven't used it yet. I've learnt from experience to make the overhaul a separate gardening session.

I also planted out my seed potatoes - and raked up enough potatoes I missed during the last harvest in October to cook for dinner.

happy Oh wow, that's an incredibly lovely set up. Dream of having bamboo like that; the last lot I bought really didn't seem to take to my garden Colbert

The golden one is a Phyllostachys aureosulcata variant, supposed to be clump forming but is spreading, canes are about 2" thick, been in the ground about 10yrs, behind that is Black Bamboo phyllostachys nigra, that is clump forming...hardly spreads at all, the other one I have was a rare one that I treated myself to years ago, can't remember what it is called but it IS one that Pandas like....spreads like wildfire though...it may have to go soon Sad
They are all fully hardy and should grow fine in most of the UK.

Just given the lawn its first mow of 2020 - delayed 2 weeks by the plague, so it was really hard work.

I did mine, for the first time this year, a couple of days ago. It was the fastest I've ever done it. I was determined to get back inside as quickly as poss.

I was disturbed very early the other morning by a couple of guys on lawn mowers doing the residents gardens. Not a word of warning which I was surprised by because we all get accurate timings of when the cleaners are to be doing the hallway, so we can all remain inside.

No fresh flowers or grapes out there for weeks now, just the usual framed announcements and the newish communal car booking diary/keys/wipes. The chairs have even been removed, so even if you could call a lift there would be no seating to wait for it to arrive.

You are allowed in your garden, you know - as far as I'm aware. I did the first mow I think on the first nice day in middish March, then again the week before last, and it's due again quite soon; the daisies have all come back! I like daisies though and feel a bit guilty mowing over them each time, but they always come back.

Our green bin collection is returning this week! bananaspin

So we only ended up missing two (fortnightly) collections in the end, and the delightful council have added two extra collections at the end of the season. happy

My neighbour's gardening with all his clothes on. What a cheat.

I wouldn't mind if he participated, though, he has a certain lean, handsome look Handy Vlada

I mowed the lawns this afternoon. With all my clothes on.

This morning I ventured down to Wilkinsons for snail killer, I had to queue outside for some time.
