I got soaked, and I had to get inside the shed to oil the mower afterwards.

It's the first time I've been able to do it since early April.

It looks like a jungle.

There might be tigers in it.

That emoticon is barely even recognisable as a tiger.

I wonder what the lion's like?

That's much more recognisable.

But I'm not likely to have lions in my garden.

The tigers have probably killed them all.

I have sold my gardens, and my lawns, and my shed, and my lawn mower, and my can of 3-in-1.

In other news, I've now tamed the lawn.

There were no tigers.

Either that or I ran them over with my lawnmower and killed them.

There was also no excrement. Last year, I could barely move on my lawns for animal excrement.

It was like living in the middle of a sewage works.

Yes, I used to have that problem too. If it wasn't cats it was foxes.

I just mow over them.

They're usually fairly small, and in the current heat they dry up to a crisp.

I'm sure the green bin collectors don't mind.

I've just realised that "Mow" is a very strange word. It's suddenly struck me that it looks like it should be pronounced to rhyme with "wow" and "cow" but it isn't.

Now I can't unsee it.

For the rest of my life, in my head, that's how I'm going to be pronouncing it.
