However, as I feared, sticks were a problem for the manual mower. I had to keep stopping to remove them from it.

This looks to be the exact same manual lawnmower that I've bought.
Mine cost me £45.

I managed to get the lawn done before it started raining, last night.
The battery-powered mower was a lot easier to push than my hover mower but felt a lot less smooth.
Still, it only took half the time the hover mower usually does.

Next time, I shall try using the manual mower and see how that compares.

This afternoon, I've done all three lawns - two of them with the manual mower - and strimmed my weeds senseless.

In theory, three lawns could be a small back garden featuring two small lawns divided by a path running down the centre, and a tiny front lawn.
Saying "Ooh, look at 'er with three lawns! " is like saying "Ooh, look at 'er with a balcony and sea views! " when they live on the 17th floor of a crumbling tower block overlooking the docks in Grimsby - with the added smell of diesel, dead fish and seaweed.

I used to have four lawns. One at the front, and at the back, one big one and two small circular ones.

I don’t have a lawn.
I do have a wilting wisteria, which I bought on the spur of the moment for £22 from the sale rack at Sainsbury’s. I had hoped it might make itself at home, and soon require a trellis as it shot picturesquely up the wall.

So the meadow flower seeds didn’t take?

Not one of them has reared its pretty head.

Apparently lawns are socially unacceptable anyway.
Maybe you could try the meadow again, and turn one of your lawns into a tennis court.
