I have now configured it and stopped Google doing all the nasty sneaky things it can do by default on an Android device.

Re: The waiting in thread
It's all right, I found another one at the back of the cupboard - a duplicate of the blue-and-white striped one which was my second favourite. So now I have two nice coffee mugs.

Re: The waiting in thread
I can safely say I will never use Royal Mail again.
I've been waiting now for a full week for a replacement vape pen and some of my favourite coconut nicotine oils to arrive.
The shop sending them rang today to say the tracker facility indicated they were being held, under a yellow weather warning.
That weather warning was in place this time last week - meaning Royal Mail accepted the order knowing it couldn't be delivered. That is completely unacceptable.
I only did it by mail this time because I thought it would be more convenient. I'm so angry. I've been on the phone to various branches of Royal Mail, who can't tell me anything because I'm not the sender.
Just there, I've been on hold for over an hour listening to the same piece of classical music on a loop, only for the phone to die. It was my last ditch attempt to beg for the chance to find out and then personally search through whichever warehouse has got my goods.
For the first time in months, I've had to buy a pack of cigarettes to keep me going.

Re: The waiting in thread
I ordered some archive boxes from Viking and the stupid idiots have sent them via Parcelforce. I knew 'free delivery' would have a catch somewhere.

Re: The waiting in thread
I don't think I've ever been so annoyed by a delivery process. I had expected to feel calmer by now, but I don't.
They took good money to deliver something essential, knowing full well that they were unable to do anything more than stick it in storage for an unknown period of time.
Had it seemed likely they'd f*** up to this extent, I could've just gone as usual to the shop itself to buy directly, a round trip of just twenty minutes.
I'll have to battle through their phone system again in the morning to find out where TF my stuff is and how they intend to compensate me.
I just want to speak to an actual human being, so this inconvenience can be acknowledged. For all anyone knows, the extra packs of cigarettes I've had to buy to cover this this could very well contain the one that kills me.
I will never use Royal Mail again. I trusted them - I chose them over a same day courier service. I thought they could be relied on. I'm really disappointed on their behalf.

Re: The waiting in thread
They're rubbish. I got a four hour slot for my 'express' archive box delivery, 0933-1333.
I've also got a COVID test kit coming, and tomorrow a sack barrow and one of those 'skate' things for trundling heavy furniture with.

I'm waiting for my USB laptop cooling pads to arrive today.

Then I can stick them under my radiator and see if they do make the room feel warmer.

They have arrived.
I am now trying to break the legs off, so I can fit them under the radiator.

I have put them to the test. I'm not noticing any extra warming of the room. I fear they lack the awesome power of the 6" desktop fans I first experimented with.
