I bet Phil Collins gave them the tip off.
He tried to disguise himself by painting his neck black, but they didn't buy it for a second.
Well, the bit under under his chin really.
Like when he had goitre.
Probably.
All that port, fois gras and Roquefort he was guzzling at the time.
Probably.

Intro a bit like that Marvin Gaye song.
The rest of the song not sounding like that Marvin Gaye song.

Re: ZZ Top - Eliminator (1983)
It is over.
It was very efficient but it was hard to see the point of it being an album when playing any of the singles eleven times in a row would have created the same effect.
Now to look back at the thread and see what everybody else made of it.

But it was much better than I was expecting, I must be getting old, but I liked the v.dated attempts to move with the times.

Re: ZZ Top - Eliminator (1983)
Not bad, but Midwest US fodder by default.
That said, it was, beneath the surface, a strange mix of Southern/Hard Rock and synthi-Euro dance production techniques and studio stylings.
That said, I'm sure nobody in the US noticed.
Hence it sold a quadrillion units.
Good for them I s'pose.
