I was listening to a bit of Coil, and they seem to be about a year/ 8 months behind the times, this sort of bangy 1982 stuff combined with the first 12" mix of Relax, then going all Acid House in 1989, and glitchy a year after Ambient 4: Isolationism CD.
Which is fine if the fans didn't keep saying how it was them and not some people of color in America who invented things,

They deffo caught onto the Fairlight well after time.
Probably couldn't afford one in 1980 in fairness.
