This afternoon, they were playing Stop the Cavalry on the PA of Sheffield's glamourable Moor Market. This is the first Christmas song I have heard this year. Excited

I meant to start this thread last week - when I heard Jeremy Vine play Fairytale of New York, in what was practically mid November. I turned the radio off as soon as I heard it start.

Magic Radio is determined to get its listeners into the festive spirit - by playing Christmas music all the time.

Previously Magic Christmas was offered in addition to the main station. But this year the regular playlist will be replaced by a diet of merry music.

I heard the beginning of Warm This Winter by Gabriella Cilmi earlier on Sara Cox's show. It's one one of the more modern Christmas-ish songs you hear occasionally over the festive period and is perhaps less annoying.

Whatever happened to her anyway?

I think Radio 2 are playing the less popular "Christmas" songs first - I still haven't heard any of the more popular ones, other than Jeremy Vine playing Fairytale of New York in the middle of November. bash

I still haven't heard Slade or Wizzard - have they fallen out of fashion, only to be replaced with Christmas songs by the likes of Sia, Coldplay, Leona Lewis and Gabriella Cilmi? scared
