That was a varied mix of tracks that struggled to cohere into a seamless playlist. However, only one of the tracks failed to appeal to me.

So, Stevens frames it as it a kind of personal tragedy, but actually he dumped via in a pathetically mawkish song released without her knowledge and when she was in another country because his tiny ego was shattered.
