Having multiple choice dosn't really work when you can't see who voted for what.

I voted for don't care and labels are for
They probably are, or were, but being Prog or not dosn't mean they're more or less ars*-numbingly boring great or not.

Re: Are Pink Floyd Prog?
I voted no.
Bluntly and unequivocally.
NO!
They were a psychedelic rock band for the first three or four LPs then became a sort of psychedelic rock band for another couple of LPs then they became a kind of uniquely high-concept kind of rock band retaining certain psychedelic elements that could perhaps be defined as 'space rock' and then they finally became an op-rock band (as in operatic) with an idiosyncratic take on social commentary.
1967 - 1970: file under "Psychedelic Rock"
1971 - 1982: file under "Rock"

Re: Are Pink Floyd Prog?
If a band's albums can be made to fit The Wizard of Oz, they are Prog.

Re: Are Pink Floyd Prog?
Anyone who sings a line about it being a spring clean for the May Queen is in a prog rock band, whether they admit it or not.

Robert Plant wrote:
I ain't tellin' no lie
Mine's a tale that can't be told
My freedom I hold dear
How years ago in days of old
When magic filled the air
'T was in the darkest depths of Mordor
I met a girl so fair
But Gollum, and the evil one
Crept up and slipped away with her
Her, her, yeah
Ain't nothing I can do, no
