I've got an hangover, urgh
Yes, indeed, I've got an hangover, urgh.
A particularly bad one.
I might need to have some egg and beans on toast.
Unfortunately I have neither eggs nor beans.
This means that I'll have to go out and buy some and I don't want to.

If I had a hangover I'd probably prefer just the toast anyway.

Toast on its own gives me brutal heartburn.

Re: I've got an hangover, urgh
It was pretty rough going yesterday though.
None of my usual techniques worked.
Loads of painkillers - NO
Lying in the bath under piping hot water - NO
Lying in the bath under piping hot water again later on - NO
Taking different kinds of painkiller - NO
Drinking copious amounts of water - NO
Drinking tea (caffeine is good for a headache) - NO
Going out for a walk - NO
Trying to drink through it - NO
Having some early dinner - NO
Going bed at 8pm - NO
Waking up at 11pm, with awful tummy-wobbles and trying to do a p*o - NO
Burping lots and lots and trying to do a p*o again - NO
Trying to do a p*o yet again - NO
Taking two Zopiclone, reading my book until about 12:45am when the tablets started to work - YES!

Re: I've got an hangover, urgh
I deal with a hangover by taking paracetamol every 4 hours till it goes away. If the first dose doesn't work I have paracetamol+codeine for the second.
Also, top tip, if you're still drunk when you wake up, don't have anything to eat until it's worn off, you will feel a lot better.
Hangover avoidance tip: if you're planning a big spree on Friday, say, have a normal amount to drink on Thursday. You might feel a bit rough Friday morning but it will mean you feel much better on Saturday than you would if you had nothing on Thursday.

My friend T*na swears that a really good run is the best cure for a hangover.
Some rubbish about sweating out the toxins.

Vigorous exercise does make me feel relatively better, but tbh I suspect it's just because time has passed while I'm doing it.
We're men and women of the world here on the NHOTW and we know that when it comes to hangovers, not getting drunk is the only real prevention and time is the only real cure.

Ironically I had a hangover this morning, what I call a 'water biscuit' hangover, one where I only want a water biscuit and coffee for breakfast.

This is like an advice from the old grizzled experienced people at the local drinking school.

Ah, the codeine part of the co-codamol is taking effect
I can see why the 'mericans have got such a problem with opioids, I'd do this all the time if I could

I've been nursing yet another awful hangover.
I drank two bockles of rosé and watched the (quite good and quite strange) film The Sisters Brothers.
That was all fine and dandy.
I enjoyed the film and was feeling nicely drunk, but then...
I had a glass of Scotch.

Not feeling a bit hung over on Monday morning is also a bit odd.

I am only now starting to feel human.
